Bonita began serving as the Nations and Neighbors Catalyst in January, 2017. She served 23 years with the International Mission Board in Zambia, the IMB Home office and more recently in Southeast Asia. The focus of her work was developing strategic partnerships between US churches, missionaries and Unreached People Groups. Her prior experience also includes work with state conventions in Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan and North Carolina. In Tennessee, she served as the State Acteens Director in the WMU office. Bonita has a BS in Marketing from Austin Peay State University and a Masters in Religious Education from Southwestern Seminary. Her passion is to see the local church engage lostness in their home community and among the unreached peoples of the world found here in Knox County and in their home countries. In her off time she enjoys cooking, travel and cheering on the ‘Roll Tide’ from her childhood home of Alabama.
As she shares about this new initiative she says,
“in Acts 17:26-27 God says– ‘From one man he made all the nations… He has appointed their time in history and set the boundaries of their lands… He did this so they might seek Him and find him.’
God has directed the movement of over 120 nations to Knox County so that they might be our neighbors and come to find Him thru us His children.
